My Personal Wellness

  1. Based on your reflections, and on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being optimal wellbeing), where do you rate your A-physical well-being, B-spiritual well-being, C-psychological well-being? Why? I rate my physical well-being at a 6, because I am over weight. I rate my spiritual well-being at an 8, because I think I think I have a good ability to get in touch with my inner feelings whenever I see necessary. I rate my psychological well-being at a 7, because for the most part I am an even keeled person, but I do experience anxiety that consumes me from time to time.

  1. Develop a goal for yourself in each area (physical, spiritual, psychological).
My physical well-being goal is to get within the healthy weight range for my height b    exercising and eating healthy.
My spiritual well-being goal is to learn some new ways to find peace from within myself.
My psychological well-being goal is to find ways to avoid anxiety and /or deal with anxiety when it hits.
  1. What activities or exercise can you implement in your life to assist in moving toward each goal?  I can do some sort of exercise on a daily basis and incorporate healthy foods into my diet. I can also do some research into meditation practices that could benefit me when I am stressed or have anxiety attack.
  2. Complete the relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century. To hear this exercise, click here. Describe your experience. (What it beneficial? Frustrating? etc.) I found this exercise to be beneficial once I started to relax. When I first started the audio my son had the TV on loud and he kept asking me questions, so I had to answer his questions, turn the volume down on the TV and start the audio over. Then I was able to concentrate the man's voice and what he was telling me to envision. I began to really feel relaxed with the yellow beam of light from my upper stomach.

  1. Well a six physically isn't that bad. Not everyone is the same shape or size, nor should they be. You may be a little overweight, just don't let yourself become obese. I think classes like these are designed to help us and others we may work with to adopt a more healthy all around lifestyle. Eating healthier and perhaps staying a little busier throughout the day will help maintain your current health and feel comfortable with who you are.
